Lyndon Copeland Obituary

Lyndon Copeland entered this life on March 25, 1963. He went back home on December 15, 2013.

He was one of the most compassionate and generous people one could ever encounter. Lyndon was the kind of person who could get to know someone's entire life story in less than five minutes of meeting them. He was an extremely talented musician, vocalist, producer, and athlete. He was a Colorado Springs native and a Harrison High School graduate. Lyndon also worked in commercial maintenance for the Masciarelli Corporation and Associates.

He is survived by his mother Bernadine Copeland, his wife of 23 years, Sandra Dolan, stepdaughter, Katie Dolan, one step grandchild, "Hunter", who knew him affectionately as "Papa" and three siblings; Lorenzo Copeland Jr., David Bernard Copeland and Doriena Susette Longmire.

Lyndon was preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo Copeland Sr.

He has a host of family and friends who love, admire and appreciate his strong, focused confident (yet caring), genuine, uniquely magnetic, funny, animated, loud, crazy, energetic and explosive personality. We will all miss the warmth of this lovable, charismatic, opinionated, courageous, humble, phenomenal old soul whom had such a "gift of gab". He would make everyone feel special even if he spent a very brief amount of time with you he was always laughing, joking and being the "LIFE" of what didn't even have to be a party to feel like one.

Visitation is Thursday, December 19, 2013, Evergreen Funeral, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., from 4:00-7:00pm. Memorial Services are Friday, December 20th, Evergreen Funeral Home at 2:00pm. Repast is at 4:00pm, Deerfield Hills Community Center, 4290 Deerfield Hills Road, 80916.

"Stay Gold"
I thought that I should sit and write,
While there's still time left in the day.For soon will come the dust the night, and I shall pass away.

These things I'll say I've always said before,So now don't be alarmed.
It's all of you I do adore,
for I've never meant no harm.

You all have shown me many things,
Like how to laugh and cry.
to take in stride what life may bring,
without ever asking why.
I tried to show I was a friend,
though on love you can not live.

These things I'll say I've said before.
So now don't be alarmed.
When I've fought the fight but lost the war,It's all of me you all have charmed.

As I look back on all we've done,
that brought us close together.
I remember only the fun,
forget you now, "No Never".

So let this story now be told.
In the event that I should go, What you meant to me was gold.
For those who knew more than my name,
Your treasured in my heart.

And things will never be the same,
should our friendship come to part.
I thought that I should sit and write today, while I still have breath.

The things I knew I had to say,
that I can not say in death.
"Stay Gold"

God speed in healing and Lyndon I simply love you.

What an angel! No way a "normal" human being has this kind of effect on everyone he encountered! I always knew this about my "Big Baby Brother," Lyndon. He was cut from a "special, Spiritual, cloth"- imported directly from HEAVEN! My heart smiles for and with him as I know his is doing the same, because of what God had instilled in him ; His ever abounding power, grace, strength, love and peace beautiful music and happiness- all of which Lyndon shared with us! Rest well dear, sweet brother- until we meet again in Glory! I love and miss you so very much!

Looking forward to singing with you, again!

December 19, 2013

My husband and I enjoyed the Copeland brothers so much. I remember them spending hours in the studio cracking up! They would go in the studio with intentions to record, but spend 4 hours rolling on the floor laughing listening to Lyndon and David tell stories and never recording one note. I remember walking by Studio A and hearing stories of "577 Snowcat!"
Such fun times and memories I have of the boys together.
His smooth and soulful voice could grab your heart and bring a song to life. That voice!!
I am lifting the family up in prayer for comfort during this time.
He will never be forgotten.

Remember all of the wonderful times.

The last time we talked was about 5 years ago and it felt good to reconnect after such a long time. I met Lyndon when he was 17 years old and loved the way he could light up a room just by being there. Then when he would sing, well that was a whole different light. Then there was his laugh....if you know him you know what I mean. Keep that light shining my friend and guide us to it when our time comes to meet again. I know it won't be hard to find you bro! My love and condolences to Sandy and The Copeland family, Love always Tim.

It was such a shock when I learned of this profoundly sad news. Lyndon was a truly wonderful person. I remember the times when he and my brother would sing and jam together along with David and others. They were way before their time as far as their musical talents were concerned (Shout out to Hollow Point!). I remember in school how he would make us all laugh or when he sang how his voice seemed to surround you with it's beautiful sound. He was a very talented individual. His smile would brighten up any room he would walk into. I will miss you my friend, just as I miss my dear brother Larry.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Lyndon's passing. We meet in elementary school and became good friends. I have always remembered him as warm, caring, artistically and athletically talented, and gregarious. Although I haven't spoken to him since high school, I thought of him often. I still can recall his incredible vocals when he sang the EWF song Devotion with the Hollow Point Band in high school. It's funny that every time I heard that song through the years I would think of my old friend Lyndon. He was a positive influence for many and will be missed dearly. My heart goes out to the family.
