Lyne Hannan Obituary

Lyne Hannan

April 30, 2025

Ardyth "Lyne" Campbell Hannan, of Colorado Springs, passed away on April 30, 2025.
Born in San Francisco, CA, she spent her childhood in the oilfield community of Taft, CA near Bakersfield, where her father worked for Standard Oil. She especially enjoyed cherished summers with her family at their beloved cabin at Bass Lake, near Yosemite National Park.
She attended UCSB, studying English Literature & Cultural Anthropology, where she met and married John Robert Hannan, Jr. ("Jack") on New Year's Eve in 1965. They moved to Los Angeles, CA where they lived for 30 years, before moving to Seattle, WA for 15 years, and then Colorado Springs in 2014.
Her career in supervising customer call and service centers included the American Automobile Club (AAA) in CA and medical insurance providers, including Kaiser Permanente.
Most notably, Lyne built an active social community wherever she went, and never met a social opportunity she didn't like. She created book and game groups in her townhome community, played in a local bridge group, and was treasurer of her golf group. She was also active in All Souls Unitarian Church in Colorado Springs, with the membership committee, choir, poker group, book group, and more, and was deeply engaged with Eastshore Unitarian Church when living in Bellevue, WA, serving as board president and leading the Women's Perspective.
She loved reading, traveling, golf, bridge, mahjong, Mexican Train, and attending theater & art shows, and most especially loved enjoying the company of others while doing so. She was quick to share a smile and a laugh and cast a bright light on everyone around her.
Lyne is survived by her husband, Jack Hannan; daughter, Erin Hannan (Jon Csakany); sisters-in-law, Chris Hannan and Teresa Campbell; and niece and nephews, David Campbell (Jessica), Adam Grossman (Kate), and Meredith Grossman (Lee).
A Celebration of Life will be held at All Souls Unitarian Church in Colorado Springs, Sat, May 31, 11:00 AM.

Great memories of your time in Bellevue. Shared Thanksgivings, golf trips to Oregon, Alderbrook, cat sitting, book club, Friday Harbor, sock knitting, UUs, mahjong, white wine and lots of laughter. When we visited you in Colorado, I was jealous they got you. RIP with your beloved kitties William and Cooper.

I spent many days golfing with Lynn in the northwest as members of the Swedish Golf group. I always admired her for all her activities and wondered how she found the time do all the things she did. Even though she moved away we still kept in touch. She was a wonderful friend.
