M. Thiele Obituary
Charles was born on March 25, 1925 in Clearwater, Nebraska to Carl and Rose Thiele. He married Josephine M. Knievel in July 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1971 after Charles fell in love with the mountains during a visit to Colorado. Charles and Josephine enjoyed sixty-seven years of marriage until her passing in 2014.
Charles was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union 115 in Colorado Springs until he retired. He was an extremely "handy" person and truly could fix anything. By example, he taught all of his children the value of hard work and instilled tremendous work ethic. Charles served in the United States Navy for three years during World War II and was stationed in the Pacific Ocean.
Charles is preceded in death by his loving wife, Josephine; his son, Larry Thiele; his parents and seven siblings.
He is survived by his daughters: Barbara Schiefelbein of Papillion, Nebraska and Rosemary (Lloyd) Apricio of Elbert, Colorado; his sons: Dick (Teri) Thiele of Blair, Nebraska, Gary (Robin) of Pueblo, Colorado, Jim (Dianne) Thiele of Woodland Park, Colorado and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Thiele of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, three sisters, one brother and many nieces and nephews.
We will miss the sparkle in his beautiful hazel eyes, his smile and sense of humor and the way he dressed in his "dungarees" and suspenders that became his signature look in the later years of his life.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 927 North Logan Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Burial and military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. A reception will be held at Divine Redeemer following the interment.

The entire Shacklette family will miss Charlie & Josie. We remember the great times we had hunting, fishing and camping with Charlie, and always the twinkly eyes! He was the last of the three Amigos and we hope that Henry, Glenn and Charlie are celebrating Friday afternoon Happy Hour together in their next journey. Condolences also from Glenn's daughter Mary Graser and the rest of the Hooper family. Love Cole, Leslie, Beau & Grady.

Charlie (and Josie)such special friends to The Shacklette family. Cole & I and our sons Beau & Grady are so grateful for the many memories of camping, hunting and fishing trips. Not to forget Friday Night Happy hours at Henry's. Now the three amigos, Henry Adam, Glenn Hooper and Charlie are all tucked away on their next journey and hopefully they are enjoying a Friday happy hour together. Best regards as well from Mary Graser in remembrance of her father Glenn Hooper. We are all blessed to have known such a sweet man with those twinkly eyes.
