Mamie Louise Wagner's earthly journey came to a peaceful end on the Morning of Tuesday, May 24th, 2022 at the young age of 92.
She was born on the BarJH Ranch just south of Hanover, Colorado on February 20, 1930 to Joe and Mamie Boice (Elmore). She was the second youngest of 11 children and lovingly nick-named Sparky. Mamie, along with her brothers and sisters attended the Lone Star School on the BarJH Ranch, now known as the Chico Basin Ranch. Before moving to Downtown Colorado Springs, the Boice family lived on the Douglas Ranch, nestled between Glen Eyrie and the Flying W. Ranch. They made many joyful memories on the ranches her father managed for the Drinkard and Emmert Cattle Co. Mamie attended the Lone Star School, Woodman Roberts School and Colorado Springs HS.
In 1947 Mamie married William Eugene Wagner, beginning their married life in the Conejos Neighborhood in Colorado Springs. They had 6 children, 2 sons and 4 daughters.
Mamie commited her life to Christ in 1954 and lived as a devout Christian. She was the foundation of her family, a devoted single mother and homemaker, her Christain values guiding her in raising her family. She dedicated her life to caring for and serving others, an unwavering example of loving thy neighbor in the name of Christ.
After raising her children she obtained her CNA License and dedicated her time to compassionately caring for many seniors in their golden years. Mamie enjoyed her last 23 retirement years in the peaceful and supportive community of the Myron Stratton Home.
Mamie was preceeded in death by her parents Joe and Mamie Boice, her daugther Anita Street, her former husband Eugene Wagner; 5 brothers; Clint, Cleo, Richard, Joe, and Jim, 5 sisters; Maudie, Ermadean, Altie, Addie, and Bessie, son-in-law Phillip Hopkins, daughter-in-law Diane Weaver, and granddaughters Shawna Street, Shelly Boden, and Jessica Wagner.
