Marcia Daily Mahn Obituary

Marcia Daily Mahn was born on March 25, 1945, at Chatfield, MN, to Dr. Harold B. and Florence Goodsell Daily. She died in Colorado Springs, CO, December 17, 2015.

She attended Dist. 34, Olmsted County, and graduated from Chatfield High School, Chatfield, MN, in 1962. She received her BS in English from Winona State and began her career as librarian at Cresco High School in Cresco, IA, continuing her education to receive a Masters in Library Science. She served as librarian at Red Wing High School, Red Wing, MN; Macomb College, Macomb, IL; and St. Cloud State. St. Cloud, MN.

On May 27, 1978 she married Walter Scott Mahn at Chatfield, MN. They were later divorced. She served as city librarian at Biloxi, MS, and at Fort Carson, CO. After being attached to Air Force in the capacity of librarian she worked in Sicily, England and Germany, finishing her career at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Co.

She enjoyed volksmarching, traveling, singing, reading and cooking. She is survived by sisters Stephanie Daily (Jim Hughes) of Minneapolis; June Hanson (Alfred, Jr.) of Fountain, MN; and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jon Daily; and a niece, Jody Christianson.

A memorial service will be held at the Calvary Methodist Church on February 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in Colorado Springs, CO.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, the Calvary Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.

Marcia had the most wonderful laugh and a great sense of humor!
Always willing to chat,she gave of her time generously to Calvary UMC,its programs and efforts. She was the Interfaith Hospitality Network chair for a few years for the visiting homeless families. She was well organized,friendly and kept the week on schedule!
Dear Marcia, you are missed!
