Margaret Colarelli Obituary

Margaret "Maggie" passed away on August 17, 2016, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Funeral mass to be held at 10:00am Monday, August 22, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2021 W. Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904.

Margaret was born on August 9, 1930, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Vern and Helen Brewer. She graduated from Saint Louis University with a degree in psychology, and spent the majority of her working career at Colarelli Associates, Saint Louis, Missouri, a business she started and built with her husband, Nick Colarelli. Her greatest life's work, however, was that of being a wife, mother and grandmother.

In recent years, Margaret has lived in Colorado where she's enjoyed her bridge group, volunteering at her parish food pantry, her engagement in her faith community of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, being an active and founding member of the Fostering Hope Foundation, a foundation supporting fostering communities in Colorado, Milwaukee and New York. She was a fierce canasta player and enjoyed the daily New York Times crossword puzzle and Saint Louis Cardinals.

Survived by her husband of 60 years, Nick Colarelli. Children: Gina Colarelli O'Connor and husband Patrick, Angela Carron and husband David, Nick Colarelli and wife Karen, Vince Colarelli and wife Janet, Kate Colarelli Beatty and husband Chris. Grandchildren: Brian Haley and wife Rachael, Dan O'Connor, Christine O'Connor-Kennedy and husband Steve, Anna Carron, Gina Carron, Kenny O'Connor, Jon Colarelli, Maria Colarelli, Joe Colarelli, Tony Colarelli, Michaelanne Colarelli, Mark Beatty, Thomas Beatty. Great Grandchildren: Cullen Haley and Nora Haley.

She loved greatly, was greatly loved and will be missed.

Vince, Jan and Family: My deepest condolences on the passing of your Mom. She was a gracious, kind and sweet person who was always welcoming to friends and family. I know it will be hard in coming weeks and month but know that many of us who knew her are with you.
