Margaret Hernandez Obituary

Margaret E. Dalton Hernandez
August 2, 1941
May 6, 2012
Resident of Pleasanton
Margaret Ellen was born in Red Bud, Illinois to Kenneth (deceased) and Eleanor Dalton. A long time resident of Pleasanton, she was well known in the town as generous and kind. Margaret and her husband, Ralph, frequented Barone's of Pleasanton enjoying long dinner evenings with their many friends and acquaintances. Of particular enjoyment for Margaret were Thursday Summer Evening "Music Under the Stars" events at Barones.
Margaret graduated from Pacifica High School, class of 1959. Following graduation, she earned an AA Degree from Diablo Valley College. She retired from Kaiser Permanente (Hayward) after a career lasting 28 years. In her retirement, Margaret's love of cooking and entertaining brought pleasure to her many friends. With her husband, she enjoyed traveling, making trips to Puerto Rico, Panama and Costa Rica. But perhaps her favorite hobby was horse racing. Margaret raised and raced many horses and could often be found at Golden Gate Fields or Bay Meadows.
Margaret is survived by her devoted husband, Ralph, step-daughter Liza; her loving mother, Eleanor Giberson of Seattle and sisters Jeanette Millmann of Seattle and Nancy (Gerald) Mix of Concord. Four nieces, two nephews, four great nieces, four great nephews, three great-great nieces and seven great-great nephews also survive her. All who knew her will miss her fun loving and upbeat personality.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 10 am at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 4001 Stoneridge Drive in Pleasanton. In lieu of flowers, donations to Boys' Town are requested.
