Margaret Roberts Obituary

FLORENCE -- Margaret Todd Roberts, 81, of 907 Clarendon Ave., passed into eternal rest, Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at her residence.

Mrs. Roberts was born in Laurens, a daughter of the late Benjamin Ryan Tillman Todd and Susan Shannon Todd.

Mrs. Roberts attended Presbyterian College. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Charlotte, N.C., and was a faithful member of the Martha Circle of the church. She retired from E.I. DuPont DeNemours in Charlotte, N.C., as a lab technician. Mrs. Roberts was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She will be missed by her beloved pets.

Mrs. Roberts is preceded in death by a son, Jerry H. "Butch" Roberts III; and two brothers, Jack Shannon Todd and William Patrick Todd.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Jerry H. Roberts Jr.; a daughter, Margaret Roberts Hewitt and her husband David of Florence; her beloved grandson, Drayton David Roberts Hewitt; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Rose Davis and Dorothy Jackson.

Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, in Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

Memorials may be made to the Martha Circle, 4110 Melchor Ave., Charlotte, NC 28211.

Coach Roberts,

My deepest sympathy and regrets oh the passing of your wife. She was always so kind and nice to me while growing up in Charlotte.You and her both had a real positive impact on the students that you taught and coached none bigger than myself. My thought and prayers are with you and the family.
