Margaret Sablan Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" Katherine Sablan passed away on November 24, 2008 in Colorado Springs. Peggy was born on May 1, 1930 to
Sara and Ross Sheppard in Kincardine, Canada. Peggy married John Sablan in December 1952 and later moved to Colorado Springs with her family in 1973. Peggy was preceded in death by John in 1989. Peggy liked playing bridge, canasta and bunko. She enjoyed her summers in Kincardine, Canada. Peggy treasured going camping when her children were young. She attended First Presbyterian Church and was active with her Sunday school
group. Peggy is survived by her sons, James Sablan (Barbara), John Sablan (Saskia), Paul Sablan and daughter, Sara Sablan; grandchildren, John Ross, Marie, Priscilla, Paul, Sandra, Kimberly, Jimmy and Jonathan; eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. With all her children and grandchildren, no matter what they'd been through in life, she never judged, only showed unconditional love. She was our rock.
Visitation will be on November 29, 2008 at Cappadona's located at 1020 E. Fillmore, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. with a service at 3:30 p.m.

Cousin Peggy will be dearly missed by all her Canadian cousins. She baby sat my siblings and me when we all lived in Northern Ontario. During the last few years when she came to the cottage at Inverhuron, we were able to reconnect, laugh, and share family history and experiences. We will especially miss you when we hear the pipes this summer. Beannachd leibh

My condolences to Peggy's immediate family and close relatives. I am a third cousin of Peggy's via our McLean ancestors and I met Peggy for the first time this past summer. None of my own family had been back to the Tiverton/Kincardine area for 100 years, and Peggy graciously agreed to get a few McLean descendants together to meet me. We had a lovely get together at her cottage on the lake. I was grateful for her hospitality and interest in family history. How sad it is that she is so suddenly gone.
With heartfelt sympathy,

I love you Grandma...You taught me how to be a good person and love one another. I will miss you forever. My Grandma was an amazing woman who always showed me the right way and rooted for me when no one else would. Thank you for your unconditional love and support. I am a better man because of you. I am so very sorry! Even after I left the house across the street Peggy would still have time for chats at the curb, and quick hellos. I always felt mom and dad were safe with Peggy in town...We will so miss you, Peggy. So many happy smiles and fond memories...my deepest sympathy to all the family.
