Margarete O'Kelley Obituary

Margarete O'Kelley, 83, of Las Vegas, NV died Sunday April 3rd in Delmar Gardens Nursing Home of Las Vegas, NV. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Brock; her brother, Robert; and husband, Daniel. She was born January 1, 1922 in Cunard, WV moving to Colorado Springs in 1951 with her husband. She was a bookkeeper at Boddington Lumber in Colorado Springs before retiring in 1987. In 2001 she relocated to Las Vegas, NV. Survivors include her three sons: Brock of Las Vegas, NV; Jeff of Houston, TX; Matt of Niwot; and four grandchildren: Ryan, Dillon, Leslie, and Erin. A memorial will be held at Memorial Gardens in the Garden of the Last Supper on Saturday April 23rd at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Nathan Adelson Hospice, Attention: Foundation, 4131 Swenson Street, Las Vegas, NV 89117.

Maggie was a valuable mentor and co-worker. As a young man and new to the business, her work ethic and expertise were inspirational - her dry wit amusing. She always held my utmost respect.

Maggie was a dear wonderful friend and co-worker. Always wanting to be busy doing something, she could make you tired watching her. I loved to tease her and watch her turn beet red. She thought most men were roosters trying to be a peacock! She may be gone from this earth but not from my fond memories of her. May she rest in peace.

Maggie was a wonderful person with a unique outlook on life. She had wonderful ideals and stood firm for her principals. She and I shared a love of animals, especially dogs. She was a true supporter to her friends and I am proud to call her my friend. I will miss her greatly. I hope she rests in peace.
