Marguerite Butterbaugh Obituary

Marguerite J. Butterbaugh departed this life on March 25, 2011 at Pikes Peak Hospice. She was born on July 7, 1937 to the union of Dale and Doris Tucker in Denver, CO. In 1956, she married Keith Butterbaugh and the two of them welcomed four daughters into the world. As the wife of a Navy man, "Margie" was introduced to much travel which she truely enjoyed. She always looked at each transfer assignment as an adventure and reminded her children how fortunate we were to be able to "see the world". Margie made homes for her family in Massachusetts, Texas, California, Washington and Iwakuni, Japan before settling down in Colorado when Keith retired from the Navy. Margie was a kind-spirited woman who loved to read, garden, crochet and spend time with her family. Her marriage ended in divorce after 26 years and it was at that time she entered the workforce-she loved working and did so until her health deteriorated and she medically retired. Mom worked for several communication companies and retired from Comcast in Denver. She moved back to Colorado Springs approximately three years ago which allowed her to be closer to her family. Margie was preceeded in death by her parents and her daughter, Pamela Stines. She is survived by her daughters Dawn Collins, Julie Butterbaugh and Renee LaFata, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her companion, Robert Romero and many of his family members. The family wishes to extend a thank-you to the caring staff at Pikes Peak Hospice for the loving care they provided our Mother in her final days. Also, a very special thank-you to Margaret Murakami who not only provided home care to our Mom, but who became a very dear friend to our family. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 30th at 1:00pm at Swan-Law, 501 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Donations in Moms name may be made to Parents of Murdered Children or to the Lupus Foundation of Colorado.

To The Family:

I handled Mrs. Butterbaugh retirement program at Comcast and I just heard about your loss. My prayers are with you all during this time of sorrow. Margie was a pleasure to talk to and I'm glad I had the opportunity to know and help her with the Stipend program. She will be missed!

Sincerely,
Devon Saunders (Comcast)
