Unfortunately, I was only blessed to know Maria for a short time. We attended the same Sunday School and Bible Study. She was such a beautiful, caring person. Her love for God was evident in everything that she said and did. Know that my prayers are with you at this difficult time.

I didn't know Maria real well but met her through MOPS at Vista Grande Church where I have attended since 2003 and our children were in the same childcare class. We participated in several MOPS functions together and I remember her as very friendly and always with a smile on her pretty face and it was obvious how very much she loved Josie. I am so very sorry for your loss and my prayers go out to each member of her family. I will miss seeing her at MOPS and her absence from Vista Grande Church will be very sadly felt by myself and many others I'm sure.

I knew Maria through Mops at Vista Grande. We met as care group leaders last year. She was such a blessing to have been a part of my life over the last year and a half. I will always remember her and her beautiful smile.

Dear Michael and Josie and family,
Where do you begin even describing such a wonderful person. Maria was an authentic woman of God. She was a dear friend to me and I will miss her so much. You are in my prayers.

I first met Maria at MOPS when we were both group leaders. She helped me with some sign language that I was teaching my 2 boys. She was a wonderful, giving women. I was blessed knowing Maria even if only for a short time. My prayers go to Michael, Josie and family, know that Maria was well loved.

Michael and Josie, you are in our prayers. We enjoyed studying God's word with you and Maria at Vista Grande and praying for you as Josie came into the world. We remember seeing pictures of Josie and Maria and the pure joy on Maria's face. Maria made a positive impact for Christ while she lived and her legacy will continue through you. We cherish the memories and look forward to seeing Maria again in heaven at the feet of our Savior.

I live in Colorado Springs....just moved here in November. So I was not blessed to know Maria as long as I would have liked. In the short amount of time that I have known her....she was such a positive influence. She was so positive, smiling, encouraging and truly an inspiration to me as a young mom. She was only two months younger than I am and I have learned that I should not take this life and my family for granted. Maria also taught me to not let the little stuff....or even the big stuff keep me from living life to it's fullest. Not to sweat the little things in life...and to enjoy the gifts you have right in front of you!

Maria will be greatly missed, she was the sweetest woman. I love having Josie in my class at church and will miss seeing and talking with Maria. It's wonderful to know that she's in the arms of our loving Savior! We will see her again.

Maria was a gentle spirit who made my daughter’s short stay in Colorado Springs much sweeter. I met Maria and Josie several times while I was visiting my daughter (Samantha Johnson) and grandchildren, we always had such fun with them. My prayers are with you all at this time.
Sincerely,

It looks as though Maria and I followed along the same lines in life. I was born in 76 and raised in Colorado Springs. I worked at Vista Grande Baptist Church 99 to 2001. They baptized me and my two kids and threw me the most beautiful baby shower in 2000. I moved to Pensacola FL in 2001 to 2003. Then we went to Melbourne just outside Orlando where we still are. Strange how are lives came so close to bumping into each other. To Maria's family, I am so sorry for your loss. To have to leave behind a small child is a hard thing to bear. Stick close with your family at Vista Grande Baptist Church. You could not find more comfort and love at any other!
