Marie Blunt Obituary

Marie E. Blunt died February 18, 2009, in Colorado Springs. She was born August 20, 1917 in Dongola, IL to Ida Belle (Hileman) May and Charles P. May. Marie has been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1924. She married John R. Blunt on September 1, 1935, they were married for 61 ½ years. John died in 1997. Marie is survived by four children Jeannine M. Hammond of Ft. Collins, CO, Janet D. (George) Collier of Chesterfield, MO, Donald J. (Cathie) Blunt of Fishtail, MT, and David R. (Carol) Blunt of Crawfordsville, IN, a sister-in-law Maggie May of Hot Springs, SD, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 23, 2009 at 11:00 am, Roswell Community Church, 2728 Beacon St., Colorado Springs, CO. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Roswell Community Church for Women’s Missionary Society or to the Association of Retired Firefighters, P.O. Box 7797, Colorado Springs, CO 80933 In Loving Memory God looked around His garden And Found an empty space; He then looked down upon this earth And saw your tired face He knew that you were in pain He knew you might never get well Upon this earth again So he closed your weary eyelids, And whispered “Peace be thine�. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you never went alone For part of us went with you They day God called you home.
