Marion Davis, age 69, was called home in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
She was born on August 11, 1948 to Eddie Davis Sr. and Elizabeth "Betty" Reese in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Hyde Park High School on Chicago's South Side with the infamous late songstress Minnie Ripperton. She lived in Chicago before settling in Colorado Springs in 1989.
She was multi-talented in the areas of fashion design, art, and cosmetology, as well as in a career in nursing. She was known as a go-getter. Marion was known for her beautiful smile and her big heart.
She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and auntie . . . she is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Reese; sons, George (Lisa) Pollard, Dion Pollard, Jacoby Pollard (Maria DeJesus), Andariel (Dayo) Washington-Mack, and Justin (Tommy) Nickerson; daughters, Bianca Bean, Marie (Leanne) Nickerson, and Andrea (Patty) Nickerson; longtime pet, Lil' Bit; brothers Anthony James, Eddie Davis, Jr., and Anthony Reese; sister, Wardella Reese; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Marion is preceded by her longtime spouse and companion, Willie "Gene" Nickerson; father, Eddie Davis, Sr.; brothers, Michael James and Johnny Davis; and sister, Janis (Jordan) Davis.
Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Thursday, September 14, 2017 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
