Marion Jensen Obituary

Marion R. "Shan" Jensen, age 84, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1985 and previously of Evergreen, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2005 at the Aspen Living Center in Colorado Springs. He was a retired District Road Supervisor for Jefferson County District 3. Marion Russell Jensen was born on October 29, 1921 in Flagler, CO. to Thomas S. and Emma J. (Bailey) Jensen. He attended schools in Flagler and served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945. He married Dora Mattics on May 9, 1942 in Goodland, Kansas. Mrs. Jensen survives and lives in Colorado Springs. Also surviving are his son, Sid (wife, Aida) Jensen SMSGT U.S. Air Force, Retired, of Colorado Springs; and his sister, Leatha Sharp. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11 at Soldiers Memorial Chapel on Fort Carson Army Base. Cremation is planned. Memorials in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1445 North Union Boulevard, Suite B100, Colorado Springs, CO., 80909. Blessed be his memory.

Although we did not personally know Mr Jensen, we work with his son Sid at Schriever AFB. Sid is/was truly a wonderful son to his father and mother. We just want you all to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
