Marion Olsen Obituary

Ms. Marion Olsen, 77, Colorado Springs, passed into our Lord's loving hands on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 after a long battle with lung cancer. She was cremated Friday at The Springs Funeral Services and a Memorial Service will be at The Medallions Retirement Community Chapel (1719 E. Bijou). Marion was born to Martin and Myrtle (Lovely) Krokom, of Sioux Pass, Montana. She walked to her one room schoolhouse while her family harvested wheat. Later, they moved to Spokane, WA and then Kalispell, MT. She had many occupations in her lifetime. She received a degree in Home Economics while working as a receptionist (Spokane, WA). Marion went on to be a longtime Navy wife and was able to see many places-- California, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, as well as a tour of Europe. After her divorce, she became an excellent dental hygienist at Ft. Carson and went on to work in the U.S. Postal Service, Montebello Station and the General Mail Facility, from which she retired in 1996. She loved sewing, reading, and cooking. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Bryan) Klotz (Colorado Springs, CO), her sister, Ruth Murriel O'Connor (Great Falls, MT), and her three grandchildren, Kristina (Collin) Stephens (Boulder, CO), Jessica (Ian) Harward (Colorado Springs), Nathan Klotz (Colorado Springs) and six great-grandchildren.
