Marius Sorenson Obituary

I will always remember Marius as just Gus. He was a fine person, good student and always friendly to all. My sincere condolences to his family. I know that he will be missed and am so glad that I got to see and visit with him at our last high school reunion. May peace and God be with all his family.

Gus was a warm and positive force who touched many lives, including mine. He was an active and lively member of the board of the International Golf Society of Taipei, which he was part of since its inception in 2002 until he left Taiwan. Gus always had time for a friendly chat and was never short of kind words to say about anyone. I will remember him for his tireless energy, his love of sports and generosity of spirit.
RIP Gus. We will miss you.

I am so pleased that Gus made visits to Spearfish to see his sister Myrna and I am so pleased that I met him... The love and joy that he emanated made being with a special time. May God embrace all of his loved ones and fill them with peace.

Gus was always the coolest head in the crowd. I appreciated his analysis of difficult situations, and his quirky sense of humor. It is a cliche, but he really left us too soon. He will be missed in Taipei! Our love to you Maggie in your difficult time.

Gus was a good friend and a significant leader during the time we worked together at the American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei. He was professional, poised, gentlemanly, and dedicated to service and good friendship. My sincere condolences to Maggie and the family. He will be missed.

Maggie and Family,
John and I just heard about Gus tonight. What a wonderful friend and role model he was for John through their Academy days and beyond. I'm so happy we were able to meet and spend time together at their reunions. Please know how much he will be missed and how sorry we are to hear this news.

I remember that my parents could not come out for parents weekend and Gus and his sister took me "off campus". They were so generous. Gus was one of my best friends at the Academy. My wife and I will miss him- especially at the next reunion.

I remember Gus well from our early days at the Academy. He was the kind of guy I wanted as a classmate.
