Marjorie "Marge" Rebecca

(Haines) Fowler

Marjorie R. Fowler, 93, of Casper, WY, passed peacefully at Central WY Hospice on Nov. 2, 2021. She was born on March 16th 1928 to parents Frank and Leora Haines in Petersburg, PA. Marjorie graduated valedictorian of her class from Petersburg High School. Upon graduating, she completed a secretarial course and then worked for Dupont in Wilmington, DE where she met Lt. John Fowler, the love of her life. Marge and John were married in Nov. of 1955. The couple enjoyed military life, having tours in Delaware, Germany, Colorado, Alaska, Florida and California, finally retiring back in Colorado Springs. In 2021, Marge and John moved to Casper, WY to be closer to family.

Marjorie was many things, a loving daughter and sister, a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews, a beloved wife to John and an amazing mother to daughters Amy and Marie. She was also Grandma Marge to 4 grandchildren, Mauri, Matt, Jeni and Jack and 5 great grandchildren. Marge loved spending time with her grands and great grands. She especially loved hearing grandson, Jack play his ukulele and violin for her. He was truly the apple of her eye. Marge was also a true friend to so many as well as the consummate officer's wife!

Marjorie was also a collector! She absolutely loved decorating for Christmas and had a Santa collection that would rival any collector. She also collected Native American jewelry and was rarely seen without wearing a stunning necklace and earings. She loved finding treasures at garage sales, thrift shops and second hand stores, which she passed on to her daughters.

Marge was an animal lover as well, especially dogs, cats and horses. She was always sharing treats with the animals in har life including her daughter Amy's horse Rio. She had a sharp wit and loved fun.

Marjorie is survived by her sister Doris Stevens of York, PA, her daughters, Marie Fowler of Colorado Springs, CO, Amy Larson and son-in-law, Bruce Larson of Casper, WY, four grandchildren, Mauri Larson, Matthew Larson (Senah), Jenifer Hard, and John Larson, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Frank and Leora, sister Betty Shepp. And husband John Fowler.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 18th, 2021 at 10:00 at Chapel of Our Savior Episcopal Church in Colorado Springs, CO, with a short service at the Pikes Peak Nt. Cemetery at 9:00 the same morning. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Wounded Warriors Foundation or to your favorite animal rescue.

So sad to read the obituary of her sister, Doris last January. Doris was Eric´s Great Grandmother and always kept in contact with us. She is greatly missed by us.
