Marjorie Hoover Obituary

Marjorie Knox (Neuman) Hoover, age 91, passed away on October 2, 2013.

She was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado for 49 years and was formerly a resident of Rochester, Minnesota. She was a retired Registered Nurse, homemaker and mother. Marjorie was born on November 5, 1921 to Marshall Neuman and Elsie (Paddock) Neuman in Clifton, Arizona. She married Dr. Norman W. Hoover on August 25, 1951 in Berlin, Germany.



Marge was fond of needlework of all kinds and was an expert seamstress. She also enjoyed collecting antiques and had an appreciation for Indian jewelry. She was a graduate of Queen of Angels Hospital School of Nursing, Los Angeles, California and served in the United States Army Nurse Corps from 1945-1952, attaining the rank of Captain. She served in the U.S. during WWII transporting wounded troops by train, was stationed in Seoul during the Korean War and Berlin in post-war Germany.

She is survived by her children: Allison Bachmann of Baltimore, MD, Olin Hoover of Cherry Hill, NJ, Nora Ward of Colorado Springs, CO and Stuart Hoover of Dubuque, IA and her grandchildren: Michael Hoover, Rachel Graves and Colton Hoover. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joe Culver, sister Verna Eubank and great-grandson, Jackson Philip Hoover.

Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, VA. A private memorial will be scheduled.
