Marjorie McClintock Obituary
October 24, 1922 - July 3, 2008. Marjorie Anne McClintock passed away on July 3, 2008 in Colorado Springs. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware on October 24, 1922, a daughter of Harry and Mary McCaulley, but was raised from infancy by her Aunt Anne and Uncle John Horisk. Margie graduated from Wilmington High Schoool in June, 1941 and went to work for Wilmington Trust Company where she met her beloved Joe. When WWII began Joe enlisted in the Army and on September 10, 1943 Marjorie married PFC Joseph McClintock. As Joe was stationed at Fort Carson, they spent their honeymoon in Colorado Springs and fell in love with the area, returning over the years to stay at the Broadmoor. Following the war, they lived in Wilmington and Nashville while Joe pursued a career with E.I. duPont. Margie was a meticulous housewife and devoted caregiver for her Aunt Anne who lived with them for many years. Upon Joe's retirement, they returned to Colorado Springs and began to travel abroad extensively, visiting Miami Beach in the winter. Having no children Margie doted on a succession of poodles and shelties that were pampered beyond any dog's dreams. She was a gracious, gentle lady who loved to laugh and she made frie nds with anyone she met. Everyone was "Honey" to Margie. Her sense of style was impeccable and she always wore dresses - with matching accessories, of course. Marjorie's loving nature embraced all who met her and she was incapable of unkind remarks. Her quiet sense of humor, her sweet personality, her warmth will be greatly missed. Margie's devotion to Joe during his final years was a testament to her strength and their deep love for each other. Marjorie was preceded in death by Joe, her husband of 56 years, and her sister, Eleanor White. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Robert White, and niece, Anne Clement, of Vero Beach, FL and nephew Kevin White of New Smyrna, FL. The family is deeply grateful for the loving care provided Marjorie by the staff of Life Care Solutions and Life Quality Homes-they are truly angels on earth. Services will be held on Tuesday July 8, 2008 at 11:00am at SwanLaw Funeral Directors 501 N. Cascade Ave. Colorado Springs, Co. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Evercare Hospice of Colorado Springs, CO.
