It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Marjorie E McGraw at the remarkable age of 99 and a half. Born July 7, 1924 in Belle Meade, NJ, Marge was a woman of extraordinary character and unwavering spirit, embracing life until her last breath on Jan 18, 2024. Knowledge and education were the pillars on which she built and devoted her life, her formal education culminating with a Masters in Education from Columbia University in NYC and a 37-year teaching career in NJ and the Springs. Her devotion evident, she still read several books a week until the very end. A lifelong lover of horses, she volunteered at Acts 19:11, now Stable Strides, a horseback riding program for children/adults with disabilities. Her adventurous spirit and desire for learning led to her zeal for travel. Also an avid bridge player, she cultivated lasting friendships through her passion for the game. By her marriage to her love, Robert "Johnny" McGraw, and her family in New Jersey, she was known as a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. Marge is both preceded in death and survived by numerous family members and friends as well as her beloved horses, dogs and cats. While we mourn her physical absence, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, learning, and passion for the things that brought her joy. A celebration of life will be held on Wed, Mar 6th at 3 pm at Trinity Brewing, 466 Garden of the Gods Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to StableStrides.org in Marjorie E McGraw's honor.
May Marge rest in eternal peace surrounded by the love of those who cherished her, memories of her travels, the beauty of horses, the pages of her favorite books and really good snacks.
