Mark Bolton Obituary

Mark Bolton was born in Glasgow Scotland and at age 7 immigrated with his family to the United States, settling in Southern California. During WWII, Mark served in the Navy as a radioman in the South Seas and after the war attended University of Southern California in engineering. Mark had a distinguished career as a "rocket scientist" at a host of aerospace companies, starting with JPL. Projects took Mark and his family to White Sands New Mexico, Cape Canaveral, and Australia. The last half of his career was in further service to the US government developing first- in-class satellite surveillance and communication technology for which he received several medals in recognition of his service to the American people. Mark retired in 1982 to become a fulltime GRANDPA. "Papa" went on to enjoy spending precious time watching three grandchildren grow up. Papa continued to dote on his three great-grandchildren, playing with, reading to and the endless fixing of toys. He passed away on April 29, surrounded by his children. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Trudy. Mark is survived by his three children Marcia Bolton Hanson (and husband Kurt), Marquis John Bolton, Cynthia Jean Weaver (and husband Steve); his three granddaughters Kimberley, Carolyn and Allison; his three great grandchildren Brock, Isaiah and Ashley. He is also survived by his brother Thomas and his family, his sister Eleanor Armstrong and her family and the family of his brother Norman. Memorial Service Saturday, May 5 at 1PM being held at Mountain View Mortuary. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
