Mark Pieffer Obituary

I am still treasuring the memories of Mark. He was kind, intelligent, handsome and so very caring. I miss his smile and his easy laughter. SHS class of 1966

Still miss him. Mark was handsome, kind and loving. I will miss our talks and his encouraging words. I am praying for the family as I am a widow now too I thank God for having Mark as a classmate and part of my life.

Mark will be greatly missed in the academic world.

Mark will be greatly missed. I loved working with him at JIU. When I had a bad day, all I'd have to do is run into him and minutes later, he'd have me laughing. He was such a light. It is an honor to have known him.

I was fortunate enough to have enjoyed an Ethics class at Colorado Tech with Dr. Pieffer as my professor many years ago. That was my first class at CTU, and he really set the tone for a positive experience at that institution! He was such a wonderful teacher and person, and I will always remember his stories and joking with him in the halls. Thank you, Dr. Pieffer, and my sincerest condolences to his family.

So many of us have lost a mentor and a friend. He was also a fellow baseball fan. He loved to teach. He touched so many, including me, and I never had the privilege of meeting him in person.

I was saddened to hear of Mark's passing. We were in school together from kindergarten to high school a d loved our times in the Layne Addition. Our class of 1966 will miss seeing you and Bridgett at our class reunions. Rest In Peace Mark. Condolences Bridgett and family, he will be missed.

Rest in Heaven dear friend Sweet memories of growing up in a day when riding your bike to the playground or your friend's house and being gone for hours were the normal. Life-long friendships were made in those transitions between Horace Mann, Schaefer, and South High. Thanks for letting your light shine on so many.

I worked with Mark at Jones International University and Trident University. Of greater personal importance, far greater, Mark was a genuine mentor as well as a cherished friend.

Mark was the greatest leader I will ever know.

I was fortunate to work with Mark at Pikes Peak Community College; at Colorado Technical University, and at Jones International University. Mark was a member of the Class of 1966 Springfield South Wildcats It breaks my heart from such a loss as this. Mark was kind, compassionate, loving, understanding and such a handsome man. He was truly an exceptional human being who will definitely leave behind a beautiful display of peace and love..

I and my classmates will be missing him always. We are praying for you and the family. Know that he was greatly loved.

Mark and I are both Warriors. INFANTRY-AIRBORNE-RANGER. We were both born in 1948 and we both retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. We both are married to the Love of Our Life and we are blessed with a loving family. We are pretty much alike except he was always smarter and better looking. Our paths crossed during the Higher Education phases of our civilian careers. I worked for him and then with him and I can say without reservation that he is THE BEST OF THE BEST.

A portion of my West Point Alma Mater says it all:

I worked with Mark while he was at Jones International University and then at Trident University International. He was a true gentleman and Renaissance man, I admired his love for life and his commitment to student success.

He was one of the most student-centered people that I have met in my 25+ year career in higher education. He was incredibly generous with his time and always quick to assist. He will be missed by many including me,

Bridget and kids, Peggy and I were shocked and saddened to learn of Mark's passing. We are so grateful that you thought to notify us. We have many fond memories of our time in Richmond and Germany.
