Marley Anderson Obituary

Marley Anderson, 27, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2023.
Marley was born in Colorado Springs to Stephen and Joy (Carnahan) Anderson on March 23, 1996.
Marley had a deep compassion for animals. She could not see an animal in need without responding with generosity and love – once rescuing a horse from the humane society, nursing her back to health, training her, and placing her on the family ranch where Maxi lives a happy life today. She was also an avid reader, enjoying the classics and rich stories of history and romance.
Marley was blessed with amazing friends – first among them, her brother Patrick. It's rare that siblings are also best friends, but Marley and Patrick were that for one another. Her close circle of friends dates back to elementary school and brought her deep joy. We are grateful to Thomas, Courtney, Amy, Katie, and Mallarie and her three daughters, for the special bond and the endless joy that you gave one another.
She is also survived by her loving parents, Stephen and Joy Anderson; maternal grandparents, Larry and Carol Carnahan; aunts and uncles: Jacki (Jack) Kelley, Dan Carnahan, Thomas Anderson, Lawrence Anderson, Joyce Eckler, Judy (John) Skinner, Virginia (James) Cook, Patricia (Richard) Lyon. She had many loving cousins and relatives and touched the lives of so many with her exuberance and smile. In the spirit of her love of animals, it's only fitting to include her cherished dogs (Eliot and Winston), cats (Goldie, Quinn, and Sammy), and horses (Max and Maxi).
She is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Thomas and Dorothy Anderson, and uncle, Jerome Anderson.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 am on Saturday, November 18th at Fellowship of the Rockies located at 1625 South Eighth Street in Colorado Springs. A viewing will precede the service from 9-10 am and a reception will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Front Range Equine Rescue (frontrangeequinerescue.org) or Trevor's Animal Rescue (trevorsanimalrescue.com), both charities that Marley cared deeply about, or Fellowship of the Rockies church (https://forchurch.org/). The family appreciates Pastor Stewart McWilliams and his congregation for their tremendous support at this difficult time.
Marley was, and always will be, deeply loved - and now she will be deeply missed. Our grief is matched by our thankfulness for the precious time we had with her.
