Marshall Breeding Obituary

Marshall Breeding, a long-time resident of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully at home with family and friends on May 2, 2009 after a long illness. Marshall was born in Moody, Texas to Clarence and Sallie Breeding. He was raised on a small farm with ten brothers and sisters. He graduated with honors from high scool in 1943 and later attended Shriner Military Institute in Kerrville, Texas. There he met Valda Maxine (Mickie) Roe, his future bride and wife of 65 years. With the outbreak of World War II, Marshall left school to serve in the Army Air Corp from 1943-1946. In 1944 Marshall and Mickie married and later settled in Colorado Springs, where he worked for Marksheffel Motor Co., later to become Carlin Dodge. He retired as the office manager in 1990. Marshall was a beloved father who was dedicated to his faith. He was a member of Pikes Peak Church of Christ where he served as an elder and volunteered his time as the church's bookkeeper. He loved his family, enjoyed fishing, tinkering, gardening and cheering on the Rockies. He is survived by his wife, Mickie, and four children: Don Breeding (Cheryl) and Randy Breeding of Colorado Springs; Ann Owen (Mike) of Brownfield, Texas; Todd Breeding (Courtney) of Aledo, Texas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Pikes Peak Church of Christ, 1402 West Pikes Peak Avenue, at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Mountain States Children's Home in Longmont, Colorado or Pikes Peak Hospice.

Always with a smile, the most wonderful laugh I ever heard and one of the kindest people who ever lived. Working with Marshall for many years at Carlin Dodge was my privelege and I pray the family knows how lucky we all were in sharing his life.

Marshall was one of my favorite people in Colorado Springs. He was our Bible Class teacher when I was in high school. He provided many activities for us kids--hiking, breakfast before work in the Garden of the Gods etc. I loved and appreciated him.
