Marta Price
February 19, 2025

Marta Price, a devoted wife, beloved mother, adoring grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on February 19th. She was born in Evanston, Illinois, and grew up in Denver, Colorado. Marta attended Kent School in Denver and graduated from Colorado College with the Class of 1966.
After college, she moved to San Francisco for a brief adventure working as a travel agent. A year later, she returned to Colorado Springs to marry the love of her life, Gordon. Their marriage became a beautiful partnership that lasted 56 wonderful years.
While raising her young children, Marta enjoyed volunteering at their schools to support their education and activities. As her children grew, she extended her talents beyond the home, working at The Broadmoor Hotel in both the gift shop and accounting office.
A survivor of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Marta found renewed purpose and community with the Cheyenne Mountain Garden Club. One of her greatest joys in later years was arranging bouquets from donated flowers with friends and delivering them to patients at Penrose St. Francis Hospice, bringing light and comfort to others.
Marta was a skilled and prolific needlepointer, a devoted geranium gardener, an expert chocolate chip cookie baker, and a loyal fan of peanut M&M's.
Marta's memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her most: her devoted husband, Gordon; her three children, Brandy (Gretchen), Jo (Andy), and Tim (Angela); and her grandchildren, Jack, Mia, and Tessa. She is also survived by her brother, Ran (Rocky), and their two children.
To honor Marta's life, raise a glass of Pepsi, enjoy a handful of peanut M&M's, and remember her warmth and laughter.

Marta was a friend of mine in college and thereafter. Her heart was always open to me and my family. We will miss Marta but her warmth and sense of humor will live with us forever.

Dear Price Family,
Please accept my condolences at this very hard time. Mrs. Price was the best. I always felt welcome in your home and greatly appreciated Marta´s generosity of spirit.
I called her once-either in college or shortly after-to ask for her chicken rice recipe. I was cooking dinner for a boy for the first time and wanted to make something special. She patiently walked me through the process, explaining that I should boil the chicken, bones and all, with vegetables. The water that remained was called "stock." I had heard the term before but never really knew what it meant. (This was before the days of cooking networks, ha, ha.) She told me I could cook the rice in the stock for extra flavor, though it wasn´t necessary. But if I did, she assured me, the rice would be much better. After chatting with Mrs. Price, I felt like I knew what I was doing. Her guidance gave me just the confidence I needed.
Love always,
Katie M.

Marta was the steady hand throughout the 43 years Ran and I have been together. She always provided calm, logical advice with love and clarity seen thru a lense of love. She was there to help us with our first-born, Hunter, helping me learn how to be a Mom, and continued to be there for our family throughout many years of life that included joy and trials. I feel very blessed to have had her in my life, knowing how much she meant to Ran and thus all of our family. Thank you never seemed to be enough and I hope she knows how deeply she was loved and appreciated. I get a great sense of peace knowing she's finally getting to meet her father, Grover, and reunite with her mother, Barbara and all the family members who have gone before her. God Bless you Marta, Rest in Peace knowing you have touched so many of our lives in such a positive way! Love, Rocky
