Martha McCann Obituary

Martha Lee McCann nee Pepmiller passed away on April 6, 2015, at the age of 85. She is the beloved wife of Jim McCann of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. She is survived by her son, Pat (Robin) McCann of Estes Park, Colorado; daughter, Kathryn (Stan) Coker of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren: Michael (Tiffany Reinders) McCann & Elizabeth (Jeremy) Brandt; three great-grandchildren: Matthew Harding, Jonathan & Lucas Brandt.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl & Grace Pepmiller nee Caldwell; brother, Paul Pepmiller and grandchild, Lindsay Harding.

Mrs. McCann was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake St. Louis. While living in Colorado Springs, she served as church pianist for 30 years and Sunday school teacher for 15 years. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed china painting and quilting. She lived in Colorado Springs for 50 years. Martha taught fourth grade in Sikeston, Missouri, before marrying James McCann on May 25, 1950, in Thayer, Missouri. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be April 8 at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church of Lake St. Louis, Missouri. Funeral to follow at 2:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church, of Lake St. Louis, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385.

My name is Richard Pennington, son of Charles and Dorothy Pennington, The McCanns were fifty year friends of my family. We all lived in Colorado Springs for many decades and the McCanns were always there. I have passed the word on to my family about Martha's passing. Everyone was saddenned to hear of it. RIP
