Martha Anne Weaver
Martha Anne Blickensderfer Weaver, 77 of Colorado Springs, CO, passed peacefully at home with her husband and family around her on July 28, 2022. She was born on October 1, 1944 in LaPorte, Indiana, to Jewel and Wills Blickensderfer. Growing up and graduating high school in Coffeyville, KS, she continued her education at Kansas State College of Pittsburg KS, graduating with a Masters in Education.
While working as a teacher in Colorado Springs, she met her husband Orlen Weaver. The two were married on August 10, 1970 and remained married until her death. Martha was mother to two of her own and three from Orlen's previous marriage. She was also a mother figure too many young children as a daycare provider. Many of these children and their families continued to include Martha in their lives to the present day.
Martha enjoyed sharing time with family and friends but was most comfortable quietly sitting with Orlen doing her crossword puzzles. She loved sewing and quilting, playing games around the dinner table, and taking motorcycle trips with her husband. As an avid gardner her house was always surrounded by beautiful flowers.
Martha was a humble soul who didn't know to what depth she touched those that she experienced life with. The love she shared with family and friends is ever lasting and a legacy that will continue on. Her Legacy continues with her husband Orlen, children: Marlen, Vaughn, Treava, Jason, and Bekah, eleven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two sisters Gretchen and Susan.
Her celebration of life will be on August 13 at the Hillside Gardens from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
