Marvin Kramer Obituary

Marvin Kramer, age 85, passed away January 10, 2017. He was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado since 1977 for a total of 40 years.

Marvin was born on January 16, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio to Edward Aaron Kramer and Alma Z. (Gaskill) Kramer. On November 25, 1949 Marvin married Edith May Nash in Washington, D.C. They were happy together for 67 years.

He was an officer in the United States Air Force with duty stations around the world. He retired as a Colonel after 28 years of distinguished service and he and Edith settled in Colorado Springs for the remainder of his life.

Marv was fond of ballooning, travel and camping. He was a longtime member of the Ballooning Society of Pikes Peak and the Silver Foxes and Grey Wolves RV groups. For many years, Marv taught the Senior Driver Safety course for AARP in the region. Marv and Edith volunteered extensively at the Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum.

He is survived by his wife, Edith; his sons: Stuart (Ede) and Mark (Bobbi); his grandchildren: Olivia (Adam) and Hilary (Don); and his great grandchildren: Yael, Isaac, Talia and Leila.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Alma Kramer; and his son, Gregory Kramer.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado. A reception will follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Memorial donations in Marvin's name may be made to the Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum, 215 South Tejon Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
