Mary Bourne Obituary

Born to Bernard and Florence Sentena in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she met her husband, Hank, they spent a few years working and living at the zoo. After Hank's term in service in World War II they moved to the Wolf Ranch for the next 30 years, during which time Mary worked for the Air Force Academy, and retired. Then Mary and Hank moved to the Banning-Lewis Ranch until Hank retired. She then moved to Walsenberg, Colorado in 2009 until now. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Henry L. Bourne, her parents, Bernard and Florence Sentena and 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sister, Josephine Davis, her son, Leland Bourne and wife Ingrid, daughter, Sharon Bourne O'Lear and husband Andy, grandchildren, Cindy (Jeff) Edson, Joe (Stephanie) Bourne, Shawn (Jamie) Fournier, Erika (Troy) Price, Rebecca (Les) Johnson, Stephanie (Chris) Parsons, Pat O'Lear (Theresa), Bill O'Lear (Brenda), Betsy O'Lear, Harrison (Wayne), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Once moving to Walsenberg she made many friends. While in the nursing home she was involved in many activities that they have for the residents. Her favorite was going to “go gambling when they played Bingo. When she won her quarters, she was “rich again. Her favorite viewing place was at the table by the huge window where she could see the flag fluttering, seeing the visitors at the lake across the highway, watching the seasons change, and telling the maintenance people where they missed a spot or needed to pick up a piece of trash while caring for the grounds. Mary's interests included family gatherings at their home in the Black Forest, watching the little ones hunt Easter eggs, climb the infamous “crocked tree, celebrating all the holidays with family and friends because she loved to decorate and did so lavishly to excite everyone, crocheting, church activities, camping and watching the Broncos. She made friends easily and no one was ever a stranger. Mary is joining her husband in their new home with the Lord in Heaven. She will be sincerely missed.
