Mary Burgevin Obituary

Mary J. Burgevin July 8, 1943 to November 7, 2006. Mary J. Burgevin, formerly of Colorado Springs, died peacefully and painlessly in Austin, Texas on November 7, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Diane England and her husband Trey England of Austin Texas, a grandson Dylan England, two step-grandchildren Brock and Erin England, her mother Letha Peyton-Cavalier and two nephews Scott and Greg Gorsek all of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her father Wynnie R. Hull and her sister Lynn Steward. Mary was a 35-year resident of the Springs, having worked at Current in the printing department and for years at the Pikes Peak YMCA. Mary was known for her dry wit, dimpled smile, love for the underdog and for living life with honesty and integrity. Mary always did exactly what she promised she would do. She battled cancer with heroism, privacy and grace. She was a loving mother and a devoted and true friend. Mary did not want a funeral service so following cremation; her ashes will be dispersed "in the Spring, when the flowers are blooming". The family requests any donations to be made to "Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Rd., Suite 100, Austin, TX 73759".

I knew Mary when we worked at the YMCA. Confidante and friend she stood by me when I needed strength. I will love her forever.

Mary was a good friend when my children were born and, although she was three years older than me, I never expected her to pass away first. I moved away from Colorado in 1980 but I´ve never forgotten her. My condolences to Diane and Letha.

Mary was a treasured friend for 30 years. I am very blessed to have known her. She loved the Colorado Mountains but she loved her Daugher more. She was very excited to move to Austin and start a new life with Diane and Trey (and Dylan-her special gift as a grandson).
Mary was an extremely stong woman and lived her life with conviction and passion. She will be greatly missed by all of us in Colorado.

To her family, you were very blessed to have her in your life.

Mary's passing leaves a big hole in my heart. Our hearts had moments together, and now there are sobs and tears tonight. Tomorrow I shall look forward to precious memories and the spring flowers will always remind me of Mary.
