Mary Burns Obituary

Mary Sue Burns, 76, of Colorado Springs, passed away March 15, 2006, in her home after a short courageous battle with a brain tumor. She was known by everyone as "Sue". Sue was a great military wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She touched the lives of all who came in contact with her. She was a volunteer at Silver Key for the last 22 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, D.A.V Auxiliary for many years. Sue was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Sue is survived by her husband of 57 years Dillard Matt Burns of Colorado Springs, daughter; Charlotte Ann Hodges of Denver, grand-daughters; Jennifer Sue Alire of Colorado Springs, Sabrina Eileen Hodges of Denver, three great-grandchildren, brother; Edward Watkins of Willingston, FL; sister-in-law; Thelma Krause of Hamilton, OH; brother-in-law; Raymond Burns of Manchester, NH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Blunt Mortuary Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday March 22, 2006. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO.
