Mary Kathryn Cowles passed from this life and woke up in the presence of Jesus, May 15, 2023, at the age of 99. Kathryn, affectionately known as "Cuppy" to her family and friends, was born December 14, 1923, to Robert and Ethel Kelly in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
She graduated from Dyer County High School on May 26, 1943. She moved to Colorado Springs in 1947 and worked for many years at the City of Colorado Springs Utilities Meter Reading Department.
Kathryn "Cuppy" loved to swim and hike. She loved serving at the Senior Center well into her eighties where she served lunch to what she called "old folks". She loved putting puzzles together, playing table games and she loved dogs.
Kathryn "Cuppy" was a devoted follower of Jesus and faithful church attender her whole life. She deeply loved her family and was deeply loved by her family.
She is survived by her son, John (Johnnie); grandsons: Robert (Joy), David (Diana), and Douglas (Lacy); nine great-grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Frances, Elise, and Sue.
Visitation will be Monday, May 22, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
