My most heartfelt condolences to Paula's family. While at Rosemont College, Paula and I became good friends where we both majored in languages and shared many fun times together. One in particular is when we traveled to Annapolis for the weekend for the Army Navy Game. I also teach Spanish and French and can imagine Paula being the consummate professional full of vigor and passion.Paula will live on through all the lives she touched.
I wish they all could be California girls...

Caitlin & Kristen, Your mom was an absolute image of grace and courage as well as a total delight to be around! The first thing that pops into my head is the way she always said "sexy mama"! Whether she was talking about others or about herself, it was hilarious whenever she used those 2 words. I miss her, and think of you both constantly. Love and peace to you both. Cindy Costanza

Je t'aime, Paula! Paula was a dear friend. We started at TMS together, and coached swimming as well. She always sent me emails in French since she knew I knew a little. She was also a good friend to my late husband who was an exploratory teacher at TMS as well. He loved working with her! I will miss you, Paula!

Caitlin and Kristen, It was a wonderful blessing and honor to know and teach with your mother, my friend and fellow exploratory teacher at Timberview. GOD bless and comfort always-
You know what Señora Dyer would do!
The Spanish bulls had slowed their pace, their hooved steps left hoof prints made in silence.
The matadors with a graceful twist retired their capa de brega --
That crimson cape they did transform, to peaceful calm, from amidst the swirling violence.
They watched the sun as it pierced the night with vibrant shades of red --
And as the dawn became the day they bowed their weary heads --
Simply to reflect, as that is what Señora Dyer did.
They thought about saving the world, but they knew they could save a friend --
They thought about what they got, but they always knew what they could send --
They pondered the distance to paradise, but they always knew how to travel on --
They pondered the meaning of genius but they knew they could think for themselves --
So then to do they ponder how the day will end, but they know that the moment is now and so
they spent time with a friend.
When they thought about all the things they thought that they could do – they picked one and did it…
Simply… because that is exactly what Señora Dyer would do….
In memory of my friend Paula Dyer

Kristen and Caitlin, It was wonderful knowing your mother when I worked at Stearley Heights Elementary on Okinawa. She always had a smile and was such a friendly and kind lady. She made you feel welcome in her office...no matter how small the issue might be. May God's promise of eternal life bring you peace and may the loving thoughts of others bring you comfort during this sad time. Love, Elsie Price

So loved Paula, her zest for life and commitment to children. As one overseas supporting the military's mission, it should be remembered, that Paula served our country, too. She had a dynamic personality, gave freely of her time and talents and supported her family while multi tasking as entertainer, charity volunteer and perpetual student. Feeling sad that I am geographically unavailable, and could not be present today for the celebration of her life with Kris10, C8lin,Mike and her sweet Dad that I met when visiting Okinawa: she was certainly so very proud of all of you, this I do know for sure. Paula, please know that I smile, always, when I think of you!!

I met Paula when our husbands were in a squadron together in 1985 in Kaneohe, Hawaii.
I was newly married and didn't know much about the military and Paula took me under her wings to teach me eveything I needed to know. Our friendship grew from the very begining we met each other. When our husbands deployed to Okinawa for six months without their families, Paula, her two daughters and my three children spent almost every Sunday together taking the children to the beach and staying busy so the time would go by faster.. She helped me cope during those long six months of deployments. I last saw Paula in 2009 when she came to Orlando for a yearbook workshop. We met and had dinner and laughed so hard our faces hurt. After the evening was over we promised to meet again in the future and I can see the smile on her face as we hugged, cried and said goodbye to each other. I had no idea that would be the last time we saw each other. She was a very sweet, kind, funny and and smart lady. I will truly miss her.
Caitlin and Kristen, your mom loved you very much. May the wonderful memories you have of her bring a smile to your heart. My condolences to the entire family.

When I began my adventure in Okinawa, Japan in the fall of 1998, Mrs. Dyer was the secretary at my new school. She made me feel welcome and part of the team from the get go. She included me in social events and helped with suggestions for my two children to get involved in activities in Okinawa. We send along our prayers to the family.

Ms. Dyer was my son's Spanish teacher at TMS and was truly exemplary as to what an educator should be. She was dedicated to my son as a whole person and invested in him emotionally, not just as an academic student in her classroom. He had her for three years in class and one year as a soccer coach and we are mourning the loss of a guiding light through his difficult middle school years. Thank you to her family for sharing her with us.
