It's so hard to believe that it has already been a year since Mary Ellen went to be with Jesus. I know your family and friends miss you deeply. Brother West from 1st Weslyan use to say "don't think of me as older than you, just think of me as a little further along the Journey!" We will all be together some day. You just got there a little bit before us - Probably so you could help host the celebration! Love you forever!

I've known Mary most of my life, remembering Mary at First Wesleyan Church, and as a adult, Mountain View
Wesleyan Church. She was always so loving. Many great memories, she always will be in my heart

Mary Ellen and Raymond will forever be remembered by our family as our spiritual parents.Their steadfast love and faithfulness is the reason that our family started our lives all over on a spiritual journey.Bill met Raymond in 1978 at work. Bill was a dry-waller and Raymond was the foreman. Bill would come home with stories about Raymond and how he was always so happy and never said a bad word about anyone or anything. Then one day Raymond came to work with a bumper sticker on his truck that said "I found it". At lunch Bill asked him what it was that he had found. Well I'm sure Raymond was waiting for that question. He witnessed to Bill right there and then! Bill got saved because of Raymond's testimony and because he walked the walk. We began to attend bible study at Raymond and Mary Ellen's home on Thursday nights. We attended that bible study for many years. We brought our kids, their cousins, any of our friends who were willing to come. Mary Ellen welcomed all of them with open arms. She was always excited to see us and always prepared snacks for everyone, which we really looked forward to! One Thursday night she even made sure I had a birthday cake! She was a wonderful hostesses and a woman with a great sense of humor. They welcomed everyone we brought to their home in the same exact way. We always left feeling like we had spent time with our own family :-) We loved them like they were our own family too. They even took us on a couples retreat one time with them in Westcliffe (which they paid for because we couldn't afford it). As everyone knows Mary Ellen had a great sense of humor and could always make you smile or laugh. Everyone wanted to sit next to her at church! We are sorry for the loss for their children and grandchildren but because of the Godly lives that they lived we know that this is not goodbye but simply "until we see you again". Thank you for helping us find that assurance. We love you!
