Mary Garnett Obituary

Mary Gries Garnett, 98, passed away November 20, 2008, in Colorado Springs. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Gries, in 1977 and her second husband, Curtis Garnett, in 1996, parents, Frank and Mary Hartz and several siblings. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Debbie Gries, of Colorado Springs, grandchildren, Troy Gries (Stephanie), CO, Brian Gries (Amanda) IN, Stacy Shellhaas (Chris) IN and Christine IN and six great-grandchildren. In 1997, Mary moved to Colorado at the age of 87. She continued her passion as a volunteer by assisting with meal preparation at Silver Key's Meals On Wheels program. The last 5 years, Mary was a resident of Namaste Alzheimer Center. Memorial service will be held Thursday, December 4th, 1:30 pm, Namaste Alzheimer Center, 2 Penrose Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO. Funeral services took place November 29th in Evansville, IN.

Grandma Mary was such a sweet and gentle soul! She will be missed, but we all know we have a new angel in heaven looking over us all!
