Mary Gieseker of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on May 15, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Gieseker and her son, Patrick Gieseker and is survived by her daughter Karen Gieseker of Littleton, Colorado, her sister Vivian Bunger of Minden, Nebraska, and her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Mary was a graduate of Oxford High School in Oxford, Nebraska and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was a teacher at heart and loved working with students of different abilities and especially loved volunteering in special education classes.
She was an advocate of the El Paso County 4-H Programs and served on the El Paso County 4-H Foundation in various positions for over 45 years. She was also a long-time member of the Colorado Springs Assistance League and truly loved working with their philanthropic programs: Operation School Bell and Operation Can You Hear Me.
In her words, "I like helping people. Well, it's really teaching them in one way or another...I just enjoy doing it."
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 3pm at St Andrew United Methodist Church, 9203 S. University Blvd., Highlands Ranch, CO 80126.
