Mary Anne Gorham, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2017, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in La Junta, Colorado, July 24, 1934, the only child born to the late J. Lawrence Troup and Helen Louise Troup.
Mary Anne graduated from La Junta high school in 1952. She graduated from College of Emporia, Kansas, in 1956 with a B.A. in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, she taught two years in Topeka, Kansas, and then moved to Colorado Springs where she taught in School District 11 for seven years.
In 1959, she met Gary Gorham, and they were married on December 28, 1960 at the First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs.
She leaves behind her loving and supportive husband, Gary; and two sons. Mark Gorham of Lenexa, KS, and beloved daughter-in-law, Andrea (Ragsdale) Gorham. Mary Anne has three grandchildren she is very proud of: Trevor (USMC), Anna Claire (sophomore at KU) and Nathaniel (Junior in high school). Second son, Rick Gorham of Monument, CO, and significant other, Norine Richards, and their 'grand dog' Kira.
She was active in Get-Set Preschool as a teacher and cook, as well as the Women's Choir and bible study. A celebration of her life is scheduled for Monday, November 20, 2017 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou Street, Colorado Springs. A private burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Colorado Springs.
