Mary Kennedy Obituary

Kennedy
Mary Elaine (Sheker) Kennedy
1929 - 2018
Mary Elaine Sheker was born on September 15, 1929, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Vince and Edna Sheker (deceased). Her formative years were on a farm where she learned to appreciate everything in the outdoors. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where she finished high school and met the love of her life, Charles "Buck" Kennedy in church. They married in 1947 and had four children: Curt, Michael (deceased), Doug and Cindy. She loved everything nature offered, playing tennis, going to the Alpine cabin she and Buck built and traveling. Mary was an outstanding wife, mother, sister, family icon and friend, always placing family first. She lived by setting a positive example and spreading love, compassion and the ability to seek all of the bright spots of life. It is that legacy that will be truly missed, but we know she will carry out that tradition in her life hereafter.
She is survived by her husband, Buck of more than 71 years: two sons, Curt (Lynne) and Doug; daughter, Cindy Crosman (Rick); and sister, Pam Clements (Robert).
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Fairview Cemetery, 1000 South 26th Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Family and friends can celebrate her life at a gathering after the service as announced at the grave site. Contributions to the St. George Senior Center, 245 N. 200 West, St. George, UT 84770 (noting Mary Kennedy) in lieu of flowers appreciated.

Mary was one of the sweetest, kindest women I've ever known. She always seemed to be bubbling over with joy. Loved her so much. Buck, Cindy, Curt, Doug, I am so sorry for your loss.
