Mary Masel-Block Obituary

Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Billeter Masel-Block passed away Saturday March 21, 2015 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Beth was a devoted wife and greatly loved her family. She dedicated her life serving the flying public with United Airlines for 37 years. She was the consummate flight attendant and supervisor for travelers in a hectic world. The outpouring of love, respect, and grief from her flying companions is truly amazing.

Beth is survived by her loving husband Roger E. Block, brother R. E. (Bud) Billeter of California, sister Beverley Miller and husband Allen David Miller of Palmer Lake, Colorado, step-son Martin Masel, nieces Martha Clifford (James Clifford), Mary (Miller) Friedman and son Joseph, nephews Thomas Miller, Michael Miller and wife Lori, and son Luke, great-nephew Ken Clifford and wife Carolyn, and great-great-nephews Jake and Drew, great-great nieces Jennifer (Clifford) and Matthew VanWey, and Amy Clifford.

Beth was born in Ottumwa, Iowa and was preceded in death by her first husband Jerome Masel, parents William Eugene and Rowena Billeter, sisters Barbara Kounelis and Bernice Joy Bond, and nephew Robert Miller.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 55 N. Jefferson Street, Monument, Colorado 80132 with Father Larry Brennan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 2550 Tenderfoot Hill Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.

Remembering sweet Mary Beth. Her Michigan family spoke about her recently, remembering a visit and how much she enjoyed holding our foster puppies. Hard to comprehend the years gone by.

My Aunt Mary Beth was very special to me! I loved and admired her greatly. She made a huge impact on me with her style, grace, beauty, kindness and work ethic! She was a gentle, loving person who loved her family and animals especially puppies and kittens. It was always a special event when Aunt Mary Beth called her sister, my mother, Barbara to chat and catch up on family news. I think of Aunt Mary Beth often. She is greatly missed!
