Mary Owens Obituary

OWENS, MARY L. (EDE), 92, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2006 at her residence. She was employed by Commonwealth Insurance Co. and was a homemaker. She enjoyed may years at her summer home in Pumpkin Creek Village on Lake Cumberland with her husband of 70 years. She was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward M. Owens Sr. and grandson, George E. Diebold. She is survived by her five children, Mary Rose Distler (Charles), Edward M. Owens Jr., Charles R. Owens (Sylvia), Bonnie J. Portes (Al), and Linda L. Diebold (Don); and nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Highlands with burial in Resthaven Cemetery and Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Highlands Family Owned Funeral Home, 331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Louisville.
