Dear Kenny and family,

I just heard today from Tom Hergenreter this very sad news. My sympathy to all of you in the loss of my friend Mary. I have such fond memories of our times together playing tennis and sharing the "growing up" of our young families. Mary was an inspiration---so talented, fun, and kind. Even though it has been years since I've seen her and all of you---it just seems like yesterday. Please know how sorry I am for your loss---may the love of all your family and friends comfort you in the difficult time.

I am sending you all my love and condolences. I just found out that Mary passed and I feel like I lost another parent. Your wife/mom has been one of the biggest positive influences in my life, as well as my whole family's, and provided so many of us with experiences which shaped not only our lives, but character as well. Thank you all for sharing with us this treasure that will always live on in the hearts and being of so many. Love you all.

We just found out today the last day in March!We loved Mary ,she gave our kids many years of her life and enriched them more than words could tell. We will always cherish her friendship and guidance and training!

Her hard working and determining nature is something I will remember. Your mom has stood for so much to so many since we all grew up together on Zaiger Place.However outside of the Sports, events and commaradery the thing that is always constant was her Life as a land Angel and humanitarian to all. No doubt she will be missed but more importantly ..remembered for caring and the Love and compassion she shared with all of us. Mary was an amazing hockey mom. That's how I got to know her and her family. They were very specisl people. Mary was the only hockey mom that could out yell me when cheering our kids team on! Mary, you will be greatly missed. I

I was saddened to hear the news of dear Mary'passing. She brought life and joy as a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association here in Colorado Springs. She will be remembered with love and fondness as a dear sister of KKG!

My sincere condolences. Mary touched the lives of several local athletes and fellow coaches.

The news of Mary's passing saddened me. My memories of Mary come from when I worked for my father. My father(Dr. Robert Knauf) delivered 3 of her children. Mary was by far one of his favorite patients. Though he said she aged him with each one of her pregnancies due to worry. She would be speed skating or off playing tennis, in another state, full term! After Nicholas was born, she pretty much wore him out and he gave up delivering babies. I respected her drive and passion for life. She was a strong woman and I expect she fought until her death. My deepest sympathies to the Polaski family.
