Mary Steinke Riley of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on March 15, 2025, in Colorado Springs. She was born in Hartford, Wisconsin on October 31, 1943.
Mary graduated from Hartford Union School in 1961. She attended business school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin which led to a career in the computer industry. Mary always loved fashion, so her last career was as a fashion consultant. She and her husband moved to Colorado Springs in 1977. She graduated from Pikes Peak State College with an associate degree. She also graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.
Mary's hobbies included movies, theater, walking, reading, time with friends, eating out, gardening, and shopping. She volunteered at the Colorado Springs Visitors Bureau and as a pink lady at Penrose Community Hospital. She was also a volunteer at Northern Churches Care now Heaven's Gate. The most fulfilling position was with the funeral ministry at Broadmoor Community Church. Fire Station #3 in Colorado Springs also held a spot in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Helen (Reichert) Steinke, and her husband Robert M. Riley.
She is survived by cousins and many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM, Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the Broadmoor Community Church, located at 315 Lake Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
A reception will be held after the service.
Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Wisconsin.
Contributions may be made to Broadmoor Community Church.
