Mary Spaulding Obituary

Mary Lynn passed away on Monday. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to David C. Spaulding III and Alice M. Spaulding. Mary graduated from University of Toledo with a Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology. She worked as a medical technologist, met and married Donald Schaarschmidt, and became a mother before moving her family to Colorado Springs in the early 1970s. She most recently worked at MSI as a microfilm technician. Mary loved gardening, family, music, art, spirituality, and animals, especially her dog, a Schipperke named Brita. She is survived by siblings JoAnna, Betsey, and David (BJ); children Steve (Gina) Schaarschmidt, Dan (Monica) Schaarschmidt, and Susie (Seth) Zisser; two grandchildren; and extended family. A small, private service will be held at Namaste Alzheimer Center. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Mary can be made to Namaste Alzheimer Center online at www.chahf.org/Namaste.
