Mary Wieger Obituary
She travelled to Colorado Springs in 1946, where she met and married Clifford Wieger on August 1, 1946 and permanently settled in Colorado Springs. They had 61 wonderful years together before his passing in July 2007.
They raised four children - Clifford Jr. (Diana), Nancy Hyde (Brian), Jeffery (Shelly) and James. She left 11grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Her career as a secretary spanned many fields. Mainly with School District #11 in various locations. Finally retiring from Buena Vista Elementary. She and Cliff loved to travel and were world travelers. They were members of Ports-O-Call Travel Club. They loved RV traveling and were members of Good Sam's Travel Club. She was very active socially and supported many organization. Including being a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a Cheyenne Mountain Zoo docent, a member of the C.S. Opera Guild, a supporter of the C.S. Symphony, and First Methodist Church. As a lover of animals, she supported many of these organizations. She passed with her beloved cat, Buff, at her side.
For entertainment, she loved doing crossword puzzles, playing Bridge, and Scrabble.
A memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Nevada Ave on December 18 at 2:00pm.
In Lieu of flowers, Mary would appreciate having donations going to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo or First United Methodist Church.
