Mary Wilkerson Obituary

Mary Catlett Wilkerson died peacefully in Kansas City, MO on March 18, 2007. Mary was born in 1927 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Lawrence Catlett. She graduated from Colorado College in 1949 and was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Mary received advanced degrees in Chemistry and Biology at Vanderbilt University. She married Robert Brinkley Wilkerson III in 1952. She was "Weather Watcher" in Smithville for Fox4 for ten years. She started a library reading club and was a member of the Garden Club. She is survived by her two children, Richard Catlett Wilkerson of San Francisco, CA and Anne Wilkerson Allen of Smithville, MO; two grandchildren, Matthew Lytton Allen, Margaret Clare Allen; her nephew, Michael Lee Orme and her niece, Amy Catlett Reddell. A wake will be held at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, 401 Main Street, in Smithville, MO on March 30, 2007 from 7:00PM to 9:00 PM. The funeral will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Commercial and 92 Hwy. in Smithville on March 31, 2007 at 10AM. Mary's exuberance and love of life are the first things we think of when we think of her. She was a colorful person with so many interests. May God bless her soul and comfort her family with fond memories throughout the coming years.
