Francis B. Brun visit to Tenn.

James Brun

January 24, 2012

My brother Rob contacted me last night with the news of Aunt Mary's passing. It saddens me that I didn't spend more time with her. The times I did were always most enjoyable.
The fond memories of my visit to her and Uncle Lyt's home in Florida as a teenager are with me to this day. Being swept off to see a Rolling Stones movie, listening to my cousin Steve's amazing ability to recite the origin of any word, recalling the movie "Jaws" while floating on rafts in the Atlantic to name a few.
Aunt Mary and my Dad had a wonderful relationship and I'm glad they were able to enjoy each other's company more in my Dad's later years. My Dad enjoyed greatly being able to take road trips from Baltimore down to Tennessee to visit her.
I always was amazed how similar the two of them were. They both seam to possess a calming quality that would permeate most any situation. I don't think I ever quite saw my Dad laugh and enjoy himself as much as he did when he was with his sister.

I will miss Aunt Mary greatly. She is in my prayers.
With love from her nephew, Jim
