Mary Lu King was born Nov 26, 1928. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 27th, 2022 at the age of 93. She was born in Gulp Missouri to Russell and Glessie O'Neal. She lived in Missouri until she came to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1956.
She was employed at Lane Sales Pepsi Bottling Co., as an accountant/office manager, where she retired after 25 years. She was beloved by her coworkers, who called her Mom. She was a member of PEO, Women's Club of Colorado Springs and a life long member of First Presbyterian church.
Mary Lu will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a avid: gardner, knitter, baker, cook and Bronco fan. She enjoyed reading to her grandchildren. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."; was a motto that Mary Lou lived by, among other beliefs. Her kindness was also felt by those in need for which she prepared meals, knitted baby hats for children in local hospitals, also knitted articles of clothing and bedding. Her favorite quote was "A sharing time is a happy time".
Mary Lu was preceded in death by her parents, husband William King, son Rick King, brother Bob O'Neal and wife Dolores. She is survived by: her daughters Pamm King and wife Deborah Riley, Kimberly Greenwell and husband Raymond, brother Charles "Bill" O'Neal and wife Mary Nell; grandchildren: Shelley Hodges and husband Ken Pena, Shawn Riley and wife Jessica; great-grand children Dylan Hodges, Lillie Pena and Grayson Riley; nephews and nieces Rusty O'Neal and wife Susan and their son Curtis and wife Melissa and children, Mike O'Neal and wife Melissa, Mario and wife Peggy and children, cousins Cliff Johnson and wife Elizabeth and their families.
