Matthew Elgart Obituary

Matthew Joseph Elgart, 30, formerly of Colorado Springs passed away on February 2nd in his home in Emmetsburg, Iowa.

Matthew was born on November 8, 1985 to Jeffrey Elgart and Elaine (Bernard) Elgart in Colorado Springs, where he lived all but the last few months of his life.

He graduated in 2004 from Community Prep School as class Valedictorian. Matt followed his dream and became an over the road truck driver. Matt loved his children and his family. He loved taking his children to special events and enjoyed fishing with his dad.

His memory will be cherished forever.

Matthew is survived by his children: Riley, Haley, Piper, and their mother Carolyn Elgart of Colorado Springs; his parents: Elaine (Ronald) Filkoski and Jeffrey (Pamela) Elgart all of Colorado Springs; his sister: Laura (Kelly) O'Shell of Palm Coast, FL; his fiance': Amber Melvin of Emmetsburg, IA.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Colorado Springs at a later date.
