A friend just forwarded this obit to me. Maura and I were friends in the 4th grade, and we had the best adventures playing together. We were the Hardy Girls with a decoder ring and secret messages written in code to each other tucked into the crack in a stone wall in the woods across from her house. There were always the pretend bad guys that we had to race away from, our hearts beating extra hard because it all felt so real. I lost track of her once she moved from Kettering, but the memories are some of my best ones, and as an aduIt, I often thought of her and wished that we still lived near one another and could share life and more adventures. I do look forward to having that chance again eventually. I see from all the comments that she was an amazing special woman who touched so many lives with her zest for life.

Dear Larry and Zach,
I just heard of Maura's passing, and I am so sad for your loss. Maura made me feel like I could do anything on the tennis court, and she always encouraged me and pushed me to be a better tennis player. I will never forget her smile and laugh. When I didn't think I could, she helped me to do it. I loved the time I spent with her and will never forget her. My thoughts and prayers are with both of you at this difficult time.

Dear Larry and Zach,
Maura was a special person! She is part of my fondest memories of AAHS. We used to teach next door to each other and when she was pregnant with Zach we would often go to breakfast before the school day started. I remember so many images of Maura laughing, joking, and enjoying life, including the time that Julie and I visited Maura in the hopital after Zach was born. I was incredibly saddened by Maura's illness and her untimely death and wished I could have attended the memorial service to honor Maura in person and give you both a hug. Please know that all three of you were in my thoughts and prayers on Saturday morning.

Happy Birthday on DECEMBER 4TH---to my beautiful sister Maura. How I miss your special smile and laughter, and our off-key singing of "Happy Birthday". You are so loved and missed by your family and friends. But you will always remain in my heart and soul every minute of every day. Thank you for being not only my sister, but the best friend a person could ever have. Happy Birthday, Sis. Love, Ellie

Mr.Glueckert & Zach,
I am a former student of Mrs.Glueckert and no other teacher made as much an impact as she did. She was a warm, beautiful, loving woman who helped inspire me to become a teacher. My freshman year at AAHS was the year Zach was born and we all remember how excited she was! I am so sorry for your loss but know she will never be forgotten. God Bless.

Dear Larry and Zach,
I was shocked when I heard the news, but will be forever touched by the things Maura taught me... on the baskeball court, in the classroom, and as a friend since graduating AAHS. She inspired me to reach for great things, and encouraged me to take the big step and move to CA. I loved feeding her Kevin Sorbo "habit"!! She will be missed but her lessons and love with continue on through all she touched. Thank you Larry and Zach for sharing her with all of us, all these years.

Dear Larry and Zach,
I'm watching a reddish-orange burst of sunset slowly sink behind the cold Minnesota horizon and I feel the loss of Maura's brilliance from this world. She will outshine the angels as she takes her place among them!
Maura inspired and honored the best in everyone - student, parent, and friend. We are forever grateful for the part she, and you Larry, played in our kids' lives at AAHS and beyond. The memories are sweet. With love ~

Mrs. Glueckert was by far one of my favorite teachers at Air Academy. Romeo and Juliet was never the same after reading it in her class. I was so sad to hear this news and will always remember her with a smile. Mr. Glueckert and Zach, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was so sad to hear this news. Mrs. Glueckert was my freshman English teach at AAHS. She guided us through Romeo & Juliet, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, and other classics, and in that way touched our lives in a profound and memorable way. Zach was quite young at the time, but I remember hearing about him and how proud she was! She will be missed.

Mrs. Glueckert was one of the most influential people in my life; she was so passionate and wanted to make such a difference. I will always remember her as one of the kindest people in my life, as well as the best teacher I ever had.

Larry and Zach, We are deeply sorry for your loss. Everyone that knew Maura has lost a bright star. However, it was truly everyone's gain to have known her. No tennis court ever needed lights when Maura was on it. Her smile and her laugh always lit it up. I always felt like a winner when playing with her. We will miss you Maura.

She was so warm and approachable, and while she taught me much about the game of tennis, more than anything, she showed what it looks like to be a good person. I am very sorry for your loss.

I'm one of Maura's cousins who hasn't seen her for probably 30 years. I always thought if I passed her on the street I wouldn't even recognize her. But after seeing her picture in the obituary, I realized she's still the same Maura I knew as a child - a stunning beauty with a smile that spoke volumns. I'm sorry I couldn't see her before she left us but I believe death is not an end but another beginning. Wherever that
beginning is, I suspect her beauty will only make it a better place.
